Siyam World: A Breathtaking Maldives Getaway

Clear ocean water, sunny beaches, and tropical weather… Sounds like the ideal vacation for most of us, right?

It’s the type of atmosphere you’ll find in the Indian Ocean, spread out across 26 atolls stretched out across the equator. I’m talking about the Maldives, an archipelagic state that’s on the bucket list of travel enthusiasts everywhere.

Siyam World Overview

Siyam World is a 5 star resort located in the Noonu Atoll. Just a 40 minute plane ride away from the Velana International Airport, not only is it highly accessible, it’s also close to a wide range of other islands. You’ll have no shortage of excitement on this tropical paradise, so if you’ve been itching to spend some time in the Maldives, this is a great place to start.

At Siyam World, we continually craft novel experiences for our guests, ones that are truly distinctive and exclusive to the Maldives. Our relentless pursuit of this vision has led us to introduce groundbreaking offerings in the Maldives, including the country’s inaugural horse ranch, the world’s first underwater jet pack, the Seabreacher, and our grand-scale events.

– Ausy Waseem, Resort Manager

Ausy continues by saying that they have numerous experiences in the pipeline. All of the new adventures give guests a good reason to return, and in the last two years, they’ve seen an abundance of repeat visitors.

Horseback Riding

Few things are as romantic as a horseback ride along the beach. And when you’re in the Maldives, it makes the experience all the more special.

At Siyam World, you’ll have the chance to discover a 16,000 square meter horse ranch, which is home to Marwari breed mares and stallions. They also have ponies, so if you have any kids in tow, pony rides are offered to children between the ages of 4-11 years old!

Underwater Jetpack

Never heard of an underwater jetpack before? I’m not surprised, since Siyam World is home to the first one, having launched it in collaboration with Cudajet.

Thanks to the shocking amount of power and maneuverability that comes with the jetpack, you’ll feel like Aquaman as you glide through the water. There’s a little bit of a learning curve, but it’s definitely worth trying if you have the time.

Shipwreck Snorkeling

My dad grew up scuba diving, and while it was never really my thing, I came to appreciate the beauty of shipwrecks and other undersea wonders. Located in Vaavu Atoll, you’ll find a particularly interesting shipwreck called the Keyodhoo. It rests in the shallow waters of a lagoon, half submerged in the turquoise water.

If you’re a fan of underwater adventures and the unique charm that comes with exploring shipwrecks, you won’t want to miss this experience.

Visiting the Farm Island

I know not everyone agrees, but I believe that organic food is the best food. And when you’re at Sun Siyam, you’ll be getting fresh, organic produce from Llohi Island.

If you’re interested, it’s possible to hop on a dhoni (a type of boat) and take a tour of the island. While you’re there, you can meet the farmers and learn some of their techniques, before topping off the experience with a fresh, organic lunch.

Dinner on a Floating Platform

You may have had fun on a dinner cruise before, but how many of you have enjoyed a meal on a floating platform? If I had to take a wild guess, I’d say…none of you.

A visit to Sun Siyam Olhuveli is the perfect opportunity to change that. Book a date night to remember for you and your significant other, and soak in the scenery, the ambiance, and the amazing food.

Outdoor Cinema

We all appreciate a good movie night, but there’s nothing like watching a film at an outdoor cinema. Cozy up with your special person, and bury your feet in the sand as you experience your favorite movies.

The Maldivian evenings are balmy and comfortable, providing the perfect atmosphere for you to relax and get lost in the show. And the best part is… Drinks and popcorn are included!

Water World

I don’t know about you, but water parks have always held a special place in my heart. And when you combine the stunning Maldivian scenery with water, floating platforms, and obstacles, you get the Siyam Water World.

It’s actually the biggest floating water park in the Maldives, making it a fun activity for both children and adults. Hop on the trampolines, conquer the obstacles, and bathe in the bright sunshine as you make your way through the course.

seabreacher submersible

The Seabreacher is a one of a kind submersible, capable of diving under the water, jumping out of it, and doing 360 degree barrel rolls. If you’re a thrill seeker who wants to experience the water in a new way, this might be the opportunity for you.

It is a little pricy, starting at $400, but if you have the budget for it, the Seabreacher is one of those things that you have to enjoy during your stay.

Whale Watching

I’ve had the chance to watch whales a number of times in my life, and it’s just one of those experiences that you never forget. The enormity of the creatures is just staggering, and I guarantee you’ll feel a certain measure of awe when you see them.

And hey, what better place to have a whale encounter than the Maldives? The activity is only available during certain seasons, but it’s definitely worth considering if you’re there at the proper time.

Wine Tasting

Personally, I don’t have much of a taste for wine. However, I know that many of you do, which is why I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to talk about the wine tasting at Sun Siyam.

You’ll be able to spend a few hours with a sommelier who can guide you through a tasting of various vintages. Overall, you can sample four different wines, paired with gourmet dishes, dessert, and wine and cheese served either at the beach or their exclusive cellar.

General Activities

I’ve listed some of the more specific activities that you can enjoy at Sun Siyam, but that doesn’t mean you can’t partake in other, well-known adventures.

Snorkel among the reefs, go on a nature walk, kitesurf, take a craft class, rent a Moke (a type of electric car), go on a safari, or just relax on the beach. There’s no shortage of things to do at Sun Siyam, no matter your age.
